Hey there, it's Evan from Pinkbird. This week, I've been knee-deep in code and design, enhancing our platform. Here’s the scoop on what I’ve accomplished.
Radio and Radio-Group Components
First off, I added new radio and radio-group components. They're styled just like our checkbox components, and they're keyboard-navigable. This isn’t just about slick looks; it's about making Pinkbird accessible to everyone.
It looks great!
Products Table
Next, I introduced a products table. This is a game changer for keeping inventory organized. I'm confident it'll make product management a whole lot smoother for you.
Once you access a product, you can create “Product Options” and for each of those, Values. Say you're selling bottles of wine; you can now specify 'Size' as an option, with values like 375ml or 750ml. If you’re selling shirts, you might have combos of red in small, medium and large, and blue in the same. Thus you’d be stocking up to 6 SKUs to cover every option for that product. I’ll be expanding more on this next week.
Breadcrumb Component
Ever got lost in your own product catalog? I added a breadcrumb component to fix that. It's a simple navigation tool, but super effective. Especially handy in those deeply nested pages. Here's how it looks:
It’s been added to every page, so you always know where you are. Clicking any item in the breadcrumb component will take you directly to that page.
Switch to esbuild
On the tech side, I switched from bun to esbuild for JavaScript bundling. I hit some snags with bun where it was outputting buggy builds, but esbuild’s been working like a charm.
And… a rename?
Pinkbird was sadly taken by another savvy soul, so I’m changing the name to something else. I’m waiting on the government of the great state of California to approve the name before I announce it, but the change is underway.
That’s all for this week! I’m always working to make Pinkbird the perfect fit for small businesses like yours. Stay tuned for more updates!
Until next time,
Evan
Weekly Wine Recommendation
Try the 2020 J. Boulon Moulin-à-Vent. Rich in cherry and spice, it's perfect with steak or veggies. Quality Beaujolais at a great price. Cheers! 🍷
