Hey there! This week I have an exciting progress report on what I've been up to this week at Pinkbird. We've had our sleeves rolled up, and I’ve been diving headfirst into some fantastic improvements.
Design Enhancements to Elevate Your Experience
My top priority this week has been enhancing the design to create a seamless and visually appealing user interface (UI). You might recall the design framework I teased last week. This week is all about making it real.
Checkbox Component: I've given the checkbox component a fresh makeover. It's all about the details, and I've improved the styling to make it sleek and user-friendly. Take a look at the image below to see the transformation.
Button Component: Buttons are an essential part of any interface, so I've added a versatile button component. Now, you can enjoy multiple variants, and I've added some cool hover and focus effects. Check it out!
Navigation Upgrade: I've revamped the application navigation, bringing it right up to the header. Say goodbye to the sidebar clutter and hello to a cleaner, modern, and intuitive layout.
Alert Component: Alerts are crucial for drawing attention to important messages. I've restyled the alert component to make sure it grabs your eye when there's an error or a success message.
(I’ll be making the errors easier to interpret at a later stage).
Customer Lookup: I'm not stopping there! I've begun the process of redesigning the customer lookup feature, aligning it with our UI framework. It's a work in progress, but I'm excited about the direction it's headed.
Backend Magic for a Seamless Experience
Behind the scenes, I've been making some significant moves too. Our backend work is all about setting a robust foundation for Pinkbird's functionality.
Environment Variables: I've added support for environment variables, ensuring that Pinkbird can adapt and be configured to your specific needs effortlessly.
Google Secret Manager: Security is paramount, and I've integrated Google Secret Manager to keep your data safe and sound.
Stripe Integration: I've laid the groundwork for Stripe to join the Pinkbird family as our payment processor. Soon, you'll have even more options for handling transactions smoothly.
This week, I've made some substantial progress on the design and backend fronts.
